Inside Sales Representative

Erie, Pennsylvania

Our client, a dynamic, well-established Manufacturing & Steel Products Distribution Company, is seeking an experienced Inside Sales/Customer Service Representative to provide timely, proactive service to our customer base. The successful candidate for this salaried, exempt position will be degreed and/or experienced in Inside Sales within a durable goods or related industry.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Identify cold-call prospects that are generated by external sources or internal leads
  • Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts
  • Identify decision makers within targeted leads to begin sales process
  • Collaborate with team members to determine strategic sales approaches
  • Create and deliver qualified opportunities to other team members
  • Maintain and expand the company’s database of prospects
  • Ensure follow-up by passing leads to appropriate team members with calls-to-action, dates, complete profile information, sources, etc.
  • Set up and deliver sales presentations, product/service demonstrations, and other sales actions
  • Assist in creating RFP responses to potential clients
  • Where necessary, support marketing efforts such as trade shows, exhibits, and other events
  • Make outbound follow-up calls to existing clients via telephone and email

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience or the appropriate aptitude and attitude to be responsible for providing support and assistance with Inside Sales, Customer Support, Inventory Control, Purchasing and assigned Project Management. Demonstrated computer literacy skills with software proficiency and strong Excel background are also desired. In addition, excellent organizational, time management and verbal/communication skills are required to successfully prioritize tasks to the benefit of the customer and the hiring organization. A driven, self-starter with a keen attention to detail will find success, career growth and financial rewards in this position.

Our client, a dynamic, well-established Manufacturing and Steel Products Distribution Company based in Erie, Pennsylvania, is seeking a knowledgeable, resourceful General Manager to become part of their team and lead their branch location in Warren, Ohio.

As the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the facility, including operations and sales. You will support your dynamic team who are charged with delivering stellar customer experiences to both long-time clients and new customers.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

  • Create a culture and processes which achieve the business goals and objectives
  • Lead/develop a team that provides positive customer interactions across multiple channels (front and back office, telephone, email, online, social media, etc.) 
  • Emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices, be cognizant of credit situations and advocate for the customer with accounts receivable management, and prepare sales order forms and/or reports
  • Enter new customer data and update changes to existing accounts in the corporate database
  • Provide support to customers that have challenging projects or require special attention
  • Appropriately communicate brand identity and corporate position
  • Oversee the maintenance (both repairs and preventative) of equipment (cranes, saws, etc.), trucks and the facility
  • Help foster good relationships between customers and sales staff
  • Maintain the existing client base and expand the company’s database of prospects
  • Ensure follow-up by passing leads to appropriate team members with calls-to-action, dates, complete profile information, sources, etc.
  • Identify new tools and technologies to better serve the customer
  • Communicate with all levels and departments in the organization
  • Continually monitor the state of the facility and recommend areas for improvement and upgrades.
  • Continually monitor the flow of operations at the facility and recommend areas for improved efficiency and strategic projects. 
  • Act as the top chain of command for the facility for all sales and operations employees.

 

WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU:

  • Have a valid Driver’s License. CDLA preferred 
  • Possess excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Are mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Have dealt constructively with conflict
  • Possess the ability to make difficult decisions based on well thought out reasoning, and be able to implement a plan to meet goals while tracking progress
  • Have experience building and leading a cohesive team, with responsibility of supervising, training, and evaluating employees
  • Planned and directed varied and complex administrative operations
  • Can adapt and succeed in a changing environment based upon organization/customer needs and requirements
  • Exhibit evidence of well-developed leadership skills

 

Education/experience: A High School Diploma/GED is required for this position, however, a bachelor/associate degree or equivalent with course work in business, accounting, management, or other related fields is preferred. Customer service/management experience, including business administration, budget oversight and report generation is preferred, A level of previous experience as a Branch Manager or Superintendent is preferred; however, individuals with previous experience within manufacturing sales plus the ability to learn and retain the proper information to learn how to become a successful Branch Manager will be considered.
